Festival Allegro Vivo
Founded in 1979 by violinist and conductor Bijan Khadem-Missagh, Allegro Vivo has established itself as one of the leading music festivals and transforms the whole region from mid-August to mid-September into a European centre of Chamber Music. Beautiful castles from the Middle Ages, magnificent baroque abbeys and lovely historic towns resound with music and make an enhancing setting for around 50 events. Allegro Vivo's Summer Academy attracts around 300 international participants who attend some 40 master courses with renowned artists. Special courses for children and the youth imbue the upcoming generation with fresh impulses and renewed enthusiasm. Pulsating with musical activities, Allegro Vivo gives students the opportunity of intensive and advanced learning as well as performing in various concerts. Distinguished achievements are presented in special prize-winner concerts recorded by the Austrian radio. Music lovers get their share of exquisite music enhanced by the beauty of the surrounding architecture. Allegro Vivo, the International Chamber Music Festival Austria, a true taste of Austrian culture.
"Allegro is a get-together of friends: friends of chmaber music, of the region called "Waldviertel" and the Academia Allegro Vivo. At the same time it is a festival for humanists.", morgen, magazine for culture |
